InstallShield has released a new verson of their Professional and Premier product line. InstallShield 11 adds support for the latest technologies such as MSI 3.1, IIS 6.0, and DIFx 1.1. Database support has been extended and now also supports Orcale servers in addition to MS-SQL and MySQL. The InstallScript language has also been enhanced, including the ability for installations to install and register 64-bit files for AMD and Intel hardware. On the Linux platform InstallShield 11 now fully supports RPM.
With the integrated Trialware feature you can create time limited evaluation versions of your software that customers now can activate using an individual unlock code (additional costs starting at 0.35€/$0.39USD per activation). This solution enables you to sell your software via electronic distribution and also helps fighting software piracy. It is based on the well know copy protection technology from Macrovision, InstallShield’s holding company.

If you purchase InstallShield 11 together with a maintenance plan before June 15, InstallShield offers a mail-in-rebate of up to 416 € / $500 USD.
