InstallShield X is the successor to InstallShield DevStudio and InstallShield MultiPlatform. It now covers a wide range of operating systems: from Windows to Linux, Mac OS and other platforms that support Java, as well as Windows Mobile, Smartphone, and now also Palm OS. Other new features include:
  • Import and install SQL Server databases
  • Install device drivers
  • Install prerequisites such as Internet Explorer, MSDE, Java Runtime, etc with a configurable bootstrapper
  • Automatically notify your users about new updates (without modifying your application and without extra costs)
  • Generate Java-based packages and MSI setups from the same project
  • and many other improvements

I have a very simple question on the bundle options:

Bundle Premier + .NET - what does it really include.

If a developer already has .NET 2003 and wants to use InstallShield X, why not just purchase Premier or Professional?

Thanks for any comments.

The bundle includes InstallShield X Premier + Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Professional. If you already have VS.NET there's no point in buying the bundle, you should simply buy InstallShield X.
The bundle is good if you don't have VS.NET (or need an additional license) at a relatively low extra price.
