I have just downloaded the 5.2 enterprise merge module and installed it inmy
recently installed Installshield Developer 7.01.  I have created afeature
called BDE and linked the merge module to this.  I run the config utility
and add a new alias with driver set to STANDARD. Then load the defaults and
set PATH=C:\ as a test.  My problem is that although the BDE is installed,
my alias is not added.  Some help would be appreciated (sorry if this is a
basic problem, i'm new to merge modules)

Merge module 5.1.1 comes up with a tool to create aliases (Bdemmcfg.exe). Aliases are stored in a file Bdemerge.ini.
This file must be copied to the directory of your msi package. This works with ISWI 1.52.

Sorry for my last post, seems I didn't recognize your problem.
I solved this by installing aliases pointing to fixed DSN (data source name) without any path. Installing an ODBC resource (DSN) with a variable path is no problem.
