I am creating a patch to replace/update 1 file. In creating the new release I used 'patch optimization', pointing it to my old .msi file. Then I ran the Patch Creation Wizard. When I run the Update.exe hundreds of files are deleted -- files which were originally packaged with Dynamic Links. I can make the patch work if I do not use 'patch optimization', but then the patch is over 10 times the size. Has anyone seen this delete problem?

There is a bug listed for ISWI when creating a patch using patch optimisation and dynamically linked files. The symptoms aren't identical, but I think they're related.
The suggested solution was to not use patch optimization, leave all files uncompressed, or not use dynamic links.
This is fixed in Installshield Developer 7. (Although I haven't tested it)
