Hi

I have a main setup where I have the builtin logon dialog box for the user to enter their credentials. I set the username and passwords into properties.
I have a merge module that installs a service with that username and password, and I use the property that I stored in the main installer. Why does that property appear blank in the merge module (empty string)? If I give it a default value in the main installer, the merge module picks that up, but it doesn't pick up any changes that are made at runtime.

Any way to get the properties in the merge module to show up properly with the username and password?

When a merge module is actually merged into the main MSI, certain names (of components, directories, etc.) are mangled, to prevent namespace clashes. Indeed, properties are mangled too.

Just open the merged MSI in Orca and you'll see what happened.
