Hi Gurus,
We encountered a very weird problem about installation for serveral times.
Out team has a test machine. It has a script to automaticly uninstall previous kit and install latest kit everyday. (The kit is generated with InstallShield)
Recently the script often fails. The following is the weird behaviour:
1) The uninstall stopped at some point for a very long time.
2) I close it from Task Manager
3) Check the windows installer clean up, the kit doesn't exist
4) Clean registry
5) Restart the computer
6) Check the windows installer clean up again, and make sure the kit doens't exist
After all those steps, it should be ok to install a new kit
7) In the morning, when the script to install is launched, it fails with an error message ”a baseline already exist on this computer”
8) Check windows install clean up, find the kit is there…..
Then I have to manually clean the kit again in windows installer clean up.
Do appreciate any help!

Baselines are created when you install a patch.
I wouldn't waste much time with cleaning attempts. Reset the VM (or restore a clean image) and work on fixing your uninstall instead.
