I've created a patch using the patch creation wizard and when I run the Update.exe I get an error message saying that "This installation can not be run by directly launching the MSI package, you must run setup.exe". Can anyone give me an idea as to why this is happening? Thanks.

If you are using InstallShield Developer then visit the Bugs Bulletin here on InstallSite. There are some known problems with patching (and I believe there's a workaround for your problem).

Hey thanks! I found out that I'm getting the error because the installs I'm using are being built compressed. So long as I umcompress them and rebuild the patch they are fine. Thanks for your help!
