Hi,
I want to install a virtual display driver through DIFx framework.
what is the right way to do this?
Specifically, what should the following field in the INF file be for
this case
DriverPackageType=
This field is mandatory for non-pnp devices whose driver is to be
installed thru DIFX , but i am not sure what is the right value to use
here
any help is appreciated
thanks

I'm not really familiar with DifX, but there will be a chat on this topic on Tuesday 12 Oct.

I have been trying to install a virtual network driver with DifxApi version 2.01 with no success. I contacted Microsoft and they told me that it currently doesn't work with some virtual drivers.

To my knowledge the DIFx's latest version is 2.01. Is there any new version release? If ther is, please tell me where I can install it from. I wish it is able to install the virtual device driver.

According to http://msdn2.microso...y/ms791098.aspx the current version is 2.1. I guess that's the same version as the 2.01 that you mentioned, but I don't know for sure.

You should note that DIFx does only support installing (signed) Plug and Play (PnP) function drivers and (signed) class filter drivers.
For detailed info, please refer to DIFx Driver Package Requirements.
