We are having a problem where windows installer launches everytime our application is run. It says "preparing to install" and the "windows installer is configuring...". The problem is this launches on Win 2K with users that are not admin users so the install halts. Anybody know why installer would lauch everytime you run the app? All of the components that the application needs have been installed...

Looks like an auto repair. The reason should be logged in the event log of Windows.

Something I forgot to mention was that the installer not only runs everytime we launch the app, but everytime our app (Visual C++) loads an OCX. We have the MSI trace log. However, it is fairly criptic. We get a "Transforms are not secure" message right before the installer is launched. I will look in the windows event log... Any ideas?

These symptoms indeed indicate some auto repair activity.
The transform message is okay. There must be some other problem.
