I'm creating a pretty easy basic MSI using Installshield 2009. I'd stepped away from this project for a couple of weeks and just started looking at it again.
When I start the installer (either on my development workstation or any other workstation) the "Preparing to install..." dialog flashes, then the SetupError Diaglog displays, but is empty (no error messages). Clicking on any button abort the installation (as would be expected).
I've attached an AVI screen capture to show what is happening.

Try generating a log of the install (http://www.msifaq.com/a/1022.htm) to see what's going on.
