Hi,
If i want to make one single installation project that works as a first time install and an update if the product already exist i have figured out that a Major Update could be a nice compromiss. Do i have to generate a new ProductCode for each new product version if i want the automatic uninstall to work?
I have tried not to change the ProductCode and always get the "use add/remove programs to remove the old product before continuing" message.
And it does work when i update the ProductCode.
Regards Fredrik

If you want to make Major Upgrades you must change the productCode each time.
If you want to amke Minor Updates you don't need to do this. But then you should use a setup.exe launcher because a minor update requires setting some command line parameters. InstallShield's setup.exe does this automatically for you (you can select this in the Update settings view)
